Ann J. & Edward P. McKenna have dedicated their lives in service to those in need.
The foundation is an extension of their example, empowering existing agencies to enhance their loving outreach.
Ann was raised in Haines Falls in the Catskills of Upstate New York. Edward was born in Ireland, raised in Brooklyn and met Ann on St. Patrick's Day 1949. Married in 1950, they raised 14 children, motivated by love and founded in the spiritual teachings of the Catholic church.
Ann's nursing profession started at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, then turned to a career as an educator in public and Catholic schools. This was augmented by 40 years of volunteer service in religious education.
Edward served the U.S. Army in WWII, the New York Police Department and the New York City Fire Department, where he retired as Lieutenant. He and Ann moved to California where he helped launch a newspaper printing business, serving accounts along the West Coast. Edward passed away on Labor Day 1992.
The mother of 14 children, 38 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Ann serves as Founder/Trustee of the foundation.
